Cordelia Ngozi Jane Anakwue was born to the family of Richard Anakwue and Elizabeth Okafor of Ire village, Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State. Cordelia was born in Nguru Northern Region of Nigeria before the civil war. Her father who served as a commander in the Biafra army moved his family to Enugwu-Ukwu at the beginning of the civil war. When the war ended in 1970, her father settled with his family in Enugu as a major contractor to Afromedia Billboard Advertising.
Cordelia attended elementary school at Ogbete Primary School Enugu and proceeded to Girls Secondary School Agulu in Anambra State her secondary school. After graduating from secondary school with grade one, she proceeded to the United States of America for her graduate studies where she obtained her degree result from University of Texas in Arlington. She furthered her studies in law at Texas Wesleyan School of Law ( now Texas A & M University School of Law) where she obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree and a Master of Science degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.
Cordelia met and married the love of life, Atty. Nnabugwu Eddy Nwokocha in an elaborate three days wedding ceremony in Dallas, Texas. A mother of six children who remained the jewel of his heart until her last breath.
In 2014, HRH Eze Christopher Nweke, Nnamba 1 of Ugwuele Autonomous Community Uturu of blessed memory honored her with Chieftancy title of “Adaigbo.” A socialite who believes in interconnectedness of the human race, Adaigbo was a leader and a philanthropist.
Adaigbo sponsored education for many individuals and contributed in numerous humanitarian endeavors. Because of her dedication to uplift the less privileged, in memory of her wonderful life, though very short, the Nwokocha and Anakwue families established the Atty. Chief (Mrs.) Cordelia Anakwue Nwokocha Education Foundation to sponsor the education of less indigent individuals to graduate and post graduate education.
