Cordelia Ngozi Jane Anakwue was born to the family of Richard Anakwue and Elizabeth Okafor of Ire village, Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State. Cordelia was born in Nguru Northern Region of Nigeria before the civil war.   Her father who served as a commander in the Biafra army moved his family to Enugwu-Ukwu at the beginning of the civil war.  When the war ended in 1970, her father settled with his family in Enugu as a major contractor to Afromedia Billboard Advertising. Cordelia attended elementary school at Ogbete Primary School Enugu and proceeded to Girls Secondary School Agulu in Anambra State her secondary school. After graduating from secondary school with grade one, she proceeded to the United States of America for her graduate studies where she obtained her degree result from University of Texas in Arlington. She furthered her studies in law at Texas Wesleyan School of Law ( now Texas A & M University School of Law) where she obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree and a Master of Science degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.istian University in Fort Worth, Texas.
